Review: ELF All Over Color Stick in Pink Lemonade!

Hola guys! :)

I love you guys. Did you know that? Well if you didn't you should. Seriously. As cheesy as it sounds, I have no idea what kind of person I'd be without all of you. With every comment you leave and with every thumbs up and new follower I become a better person, and I will endlessly thank you.

That feels good to say that! :)

Anyway, on to the review! :D

So, these little suckers right here have been around pretty much as long as elf has. They end up in allure all the time for being a great product and I hear a lot about them. They're crazy versatile and come in a nice color range, considering lower priced items ten to have a terrible range of colors. The one I have right here is called "Pink Lemonade, and I must say at first I hated it. I tried using it on my lips and I thought it made me look like I had a fat lip. It was a nice red-pink with a pink duo chrome, and I couldn't stand it. I set it aside and didn't touch it for months. Recently it occurred to me that I can put it on my cheeks too. I mean, hello! ALL OVER color stick! I found that it was actually crazy blendable and really natural looking. I almost never wear blush in fear of looking like a clown, or being that girl that is wearing the wrong color blush. Come on. Everyone know that one girl who wears hot orange blush. The staying power is the same as any other blush I've ever tried and it hasn't appeared to dry out or anything. So in the end, it definetly gets my stamp of approval!

Anyway, It's only $1, and honestly, considering cream blushes take an eternity to get through, you really can't lose :)

This is how I feel it looks on lips:

Here is how it looks next to the other shades:

DIY: Best Lip Scrub Recipe Of All Time!

Hola, my beautiful people! :)

During the winter months, lots of people suffer from dry lips that crack, bleed, peel, or are uncomfortable. I've received a fair share of requests for advice on what to do to try to prevent/soothe cracked lips, so I decided it might be fun to show you guys my all-time favorite recipe for a lip scrub! Now, I know a lip scrub doesn't sound moisturizing, but I pinkie swear it's part of it! In order to have smooth, happy lips, you need healthy lips. You need to do everything you can to keep them in tip-top condition, which would be exfoliating, as well as moisturizing. If you exfoliate, your lipsticks will stay on longer, and you won't get those sort of 'hang nails/skin tags' that when you try to peel off they cut deeper and deeper (which is what causes cracks for a lot of people). With the combination of regular exfoliation and using lip balm plentifully I can honestly say that my lips feel no different than they do in summer, which is more than I can say for last year!

1 t. sugar
1/4 t. honey

That is it!

You mix it together in a small sauce cup, and just rub it over your lips! The advantage to this one over many other recipes is that you can eat it! If you want you can wipe it off with a warm damp cloth, or you can just lick it right off your lips. Personally I prefer to lick it off. After you've gotten the scrub off there is one important step that you absolutely cannot forget! Moisturize! Pick out your all-time favorite lip balm and slather a nice layer on top of your lips as a yummy finishing touch! If you want a little bit of extra help picking out a lip balm check out this video!

Can you tell what that is? Yep. It's totally honey. Many people rave and rave about the beauty benefits of honey. It's all natural, it's delicious, and even better, it's antibacterial! Our use of honey dates back all the way to ancient Egyptian times, and was even used back then for beauty. To this day scientists find pots of honey in ancient Egyptian tombs that is completely and entirely unspoiled. Honey doesn't expire because it doesn't rot! It's as pure as can be! It's great because you can get it at any grocery store, it's not too pricey for the amount you need, and it never has any nasty chemicals or preservatives added to it. It's also a great antioxidant, which if you don't already know by now, are in all kinds of berries and vegetables that are great for your health. Antioxidants are known for being great for the immune system as well as a popular tool to fight aging.

I hope this helps some of you guys with your fight against dry lips!

Until next time,

<3Katie

Life In My Little Corner Of the World.

Today I decided a blog post might be a good idea. I don't know what made me want to post one, but I'm doing one, and that's all that really counts right now. So, I'm sitting on my front porch while I write this.

How was you guy's day? My day was pretty nice :) In P.E.(Gym class.) we did some weird stuff. For a week we just threw around frisbees. Who the heck even does that? I mean, I'm cool with that. I didn't have to get all sweaty and nasty, so it's cool with me. Now today we played tug a rope, and horseshoes. Yes. I am improving my level of fitness by playing horseshoes. I can't say I'm complaining, but I also can't say I'm enjoying it. I got the hang out with my friends though. :) Fun fact about me, I can't do a somersault. Today I spent about 20 minutes bent over on the grass, ABOUT to do a somersault, with my friends laughing at me, and trying to push me. It was pretty funny. I learned that my friend Anne Marie has aggression issues though. I'm pretty sure she assaulted my butt. TMI, right?

Want to know something embarrassing? I've gained 4lbs since school started *gasp!*
I hate it. Seriously. I admit I haven't been making the best decisions, but who knew maintaining weight while eating Chinese food would be so hard? Why do people(myself included) care SO much about size? As long as I'm healthy and my weight isn't affecting anything I want to do, who the heck cares? The answer: Everyone. It sucks. I wish it was cool to be bigger. Skinny should not be the popular choice. I mean, in reality, the majority of america is fat, So why isn't fat considered okay?

Also, I made a 68 on my Physics test. Don't tell my mom.

So in the end, today was kind of meh, but nothing tragic, and nothing that I cannot fix. I just want too curl with in front of the tv and watch a nice movie tonight :) I've got one from netflix comming in the mail called "Milk" tonight :)Can't wait!

Love you all,
<3Katie

My Summer Playlist!

Hey guys! So, this summer, I've gotten into a lot of new music, or honestly, new to me. I went through this whole classic rock stage, where I was in LOVE with Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and The Doors. That stage hasn't entirely passed, but I've started to come into the 90's and more 'chill' music, as well as dubstep. Now, rather than listening to The Doors on a loop, I'll listen to a few favorites, and then listen to other bands on a loop. So, without further ado, this is what I've been loving for summer:

In no particular order,
1. Mine Again- Black Lab. I love this song. This band is just amazing in general. They're like a 90's coldplay, but with a little more passion. I also am in love with Remember, Say Goodbye, and Lonely Boy. It's just great music to just sit and listen to when you have nothing else to do. Very stimulating... :)
2. Aberdeen- Cage The Elephant. This band is kind of interesting. The lead singer has an interesting voice, that honestly gets on my nerves in certain songs. This particular song is great because he's basically shouting, and not really singing. This one is a little more heavy that stuff I usually listen to, but not where near *actual* heavy stuff... ;)
3. MMMBop- Hanson. If you were born in the late 80's or early 90's I'm pretty sure you know these little guys (not so little anymore.....). It's just classic 90's music honestly. Just some little boys whining into a microphone....lol. I just enjoy the sound, and the vibe it gives off, because in all honesty, I can understand a word these kids say. Great song right here.
4. Anything Mat Kearney. I love you Mat Kearney. Seriously. I want to marry you. Guys, his voice is heaven.  I don't even know how to describe him. My all time favorite song is Undeniable, and my 2nd is probably Closer To Love. In one of his songs, he breaks out into a soft rap, and I swear to you. It's beautiful. I highly recommend him!
5. Party Rock Anthem- LMFAO. I don't even know why I like this song. I usually hate stuff like this, but the repetitiveness of this just sounds nice to me. It's very alive... That might be what I see in it. I don't know.... hehe :)
6. The District Sleeps Alone Tonight- The Postal Service. The lead singer of this band is the same guy that sings for Death Cab For Cutie, if I'm not mistaken. I like his voice, it's kind of unique. This song has some sort of electric-folk thing going on, and I like it. It's not high energy like a lot of songs with 'electronic fancy stuff' added in, It's very relaxing.
7. Jitterbug- WHAM! I love this song. SO. MUCH. I know, like, ALL the words. I could listen to this all day. Seriously. And George Michael is pretty. Just saying.
8. Basshead- Bassnectar. This is a dubstep song that I like. It's got a lot of bass, which is what I like. I really prefer it that way, rather than a lot of 'random audio clips' thrown in, I prefer a nice bass beat.
9. Mumford and Sons. If you haven't heard the pure joy that is Mumford and Sons, I pity you. They're amazing. Try out After the Storm, I Gave You All, or Thistles and Weeds. Those are probably my 3 favorites.

I may do a part 2 later. I'm not sure... lol. Let me know if you like these, okay? I can do one every few months, if you guys would like. You know, just to see what I'm listening to!

If there is anything on here you already love, or just found, and love, let me know! I'd love to know what you guys are liking!

Back Home!!

I feels so great to be home! I feel so energized, and happy! I'm ready to crack down, and get back into the swing of things, which means, more videos! I'm finally able to edit videos, with my back drop! Videos should be more put together to! :D Im just SO excited!

Also, I feel UBER weird.

I WANT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL!
Yes. That's right. I want to go back to school. I'm out of my right mind. I miss being at school. I miss orchestra, i miss my friends. Now granted, I can hang out with my friends, but I just miss doing everything every day. I miss that feeling that i get when i do well. I miss the feeling of satisfaction. I'm crazy. I'v e lost my marbles, I'm off my rocker.

Oh, well. We already knew I was crazy ;D

This year, I'm aiming for straight A's. I HAVE to! I'm taking 3 weighted courses, that I MUST do well in! I know I can do it, that's not the issue. It's just my laziness that's holding me back. :D

I know I haven't been posting on here. It's because my keyboard was broken, and mysteriously started working again yesterday. Now, since it's back to working, I'm going to try to do a post once a week :) we'll see how that goes when school starts back up! I'm going to try to do it all, but in comparison to what i did last year, my work load is getting HUGE!

I love you all! I've got to run! I'm going out with Abi for the day, so I'll film some vlog footage!

Review: C.O. Bigelow Apple Rose Salve

I bought this product at the beginning of the most recent B&BW Semi Annual Sale, with really high hopes. I thought it was going to be a really nice lip balm-y product with a great lasting power, but I was wrong. When you first open this product, it looks really nice. It's got a nice pink-y color that is literally calling you to use it. It smells a little off, I have to admit. It smells just like the C.O. Bigelow Apple Cider lip gloss that came out right around Christmas time in '10, that I made obvious in all videos mentioning it, I hate. It smells synthetic, and makes you sick to your stomach. Pure ick. The lasting power of this was terrible. I had to reapply after 30 minutes, with no eating, or anything touching my lips. It just didn't last. Quite obviously, I didn't want to put any more on, so I ended up putting on a different balm.

That's not all. I felt like I had rubbed butter on my lips. It had absolutely so 'creamy' feeling to it. It just felt like grease. You know that feeling where you know that there is grease on your hands, but its not directly 'wipeoffable" because it almost feels like it's not there at the same time? That's how this felt. Terrible for the face.

After all this, I can't end this review on such a sour note. There has to be SOMETHING about it that's good, right? There is! When I was trying out this product, I was sitting my in desk chair, with 1 leg crossed over the other. I looked down at my foot, and saw that the the size of my heel, about 2 cm from the bottom of my foot, I had a little dry patch, where the top layer of skin was flaking off. I absolutely freaked out. I take really good care of my feet and hands, and I knew that a gross patch on my foot can ruin a perfectly good moment with a cute pair of flip flops. So, I basically remembered that the salve is good for lips, cuticles, knees, face, and really anywhere on your body that needs the moisture. I just rubbed a little bit of this on the spot, and forgot about it for the rest of the day. I woke up the next morning, remembering it, and looked to see the results. I couldn't find the spot. This completely saved my feet from a sandal disaster.

So, In the end, I'm not going to throw it away because of what it did for my feet. If it wasn't for that last saving moment, I would have tossed this without a second thought.

Until next time,

<3Katie
